Returning again for the fourth time. Our very popular Bastille Day Waltz Ball. Many French waltzes, polkas, La Java, Valse Musette. French 'bistro music', great fun. Usually about 250 attend. Bring your beret and French accent. French costume highly appreciated.

"Crepes Musette" a new local French bistro band will play many inspiring French valse musettes and French Tangos. Band members are Erin Shrader on violin, Sylvia Herold on guitar and vocals, Chuck Ervin on acoustic bass, and Charlie Hancock on accordion. All are superb musicians with many Bay Area bands. They have been members of Wake the Dead, Euphonia, Fear of Commitment, the Silvertones, Cats and Jammers, the Hot Club, and Contrabandits. We will also have a French mixer, a Bouree, for a line dance

We welcome back again the "Alameda Vintage Dance Troupe" for a special French dance performance. Denise Brady, artistic director.

Raspberry cheesecake, Lemon Merengue pie, triple layer double chocolate cake, apple pie, veggie and shrimp plates, and a tasty collection of strawberries, blackberries, and watermelon.

We will have 2 Classes running at the same time: introductory waltz class from 7 to 9 in the Dance Lounge and an intermediate French waltz class from 7 to 9 also in the Main ballroom.

Crepes Musette, a wonderful French Bistro band, will play waltz and polk music from 9 to 12. All ages, Comfortable attire. No partner necessary. We rotate rapidly in class.

$20 for classes and dance at the door, no advance tickets, sorry no separate pricing for dance only due to live band.

Oakland Veterans Hall, 200 Grand Avenue Oakland CA X Harrison.This year at the Oakland Veterans Hall, beautiful dance hall, with 3,500 square foot hardwood floor, extra room for socializing and meeting new people, easy access, great parking.

Friday Night Waltz is a high energy dance that features mainly waltzes in the dances and classes, along with other dances like polka, one step, swing, cha cha, Lindy, schottische, mazurka, merengue, samba, and tango. People are friendly, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Attendance is between 130 and 190. Average age is about 30. People from San Francisco, Berkeley, San Jose, Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa, and Oakland.
